Look for the comment by "still a palin girl" (link is there so that you can verify this comment, which I find hard to believe).< />< />Here it is: Comment by still a palin girl< />January 20th, 2009 at 1:06 pm< />< />The whole thing makes me nauseous. When we have war on our soil during his time in office I will at least be able to say, “I didn’t vote for that moron.”< />< />Now to me, that looks like she's HOPING for a war on our soil, so she can say she didn't vote for Obama. And that's sickening. Even if she isn't, she would still use an attack on America as an excuse to tear down our national leadership when we need it most. < />< />< />Here's the thoughts of some totalfarkers on that comment:< />Diogenes: queezyweezel: I like the "still a Palin girl" quote: At least when there is war on our soil during his term, I can say 'I didn't vote for that moron'.< />< />WTF? Is the far right that whacked out? Yes, we are doomed to invasion by a foreign power in the next four years....Um, Who.... Our Navy would decimate any attempted invasion.< />< />"I want this country to suffer another 9/11 so I can gloat."< />< />What a nice lady.< />< />I think they pretty much called it. A military invasion is pretty much out of the question. We're still the worlds only megapower. The only attack that has a chance of landing on our soil is a terroristic one, and that is no time to be indulging in partisanship.< />< />Did anyone, right after September 11, 2001, say anything as stupid as "At least I didn't vote for Bush."? I should sincerely hope not. What we did is rally together as a country, liberals and conservatives alike. And that's what America should be about. But people like "still a palin girl" aren't about that. And that horrifies me. Good on you, AD, for reminding me that there are plenty of good people left in this country.< />< />(In the interests of neutrality, I should also say that I was disgusted with the moonbat "not my president" leftists, too. It just so happens that conservatives are the ones who lost this election, an so they're the group with the wingnuts displaying this behavior this time around. If the Republicans win the next election, you'll see me here in four years decrying this behavior from the left, too.)

Re: Barack Hussein Obama…

Hear Hear, AD.< />< />As a staunch Republican (but one that Huckabee claims isn't a real one) I have been weary of this whole dreary mess since before Reagan left office.< />< />We have way too much work to do to deal with this. Whether or not you agree with him on any given topic, there are intelligent and effective ways to differ. Whining, being a jerk in public, "personality" politics, and all the divisive, obfuscatory BS that has been part and parcel of the functioning of the highest parts of our governmental process for so long are not among them.< />< />I also want to point out to arcanai, that that is not how the president is addressed in all cases.< />< />He's addressed as "Mr. President" to his face. He's referred to as Mr [last name here] when he's not acting in an official capacity like signing a bill, or President [last name here] when he is. The line between those last two is quite fluid in these modern times.< />< />There is no strict federal code for this; the use of the word President for the position is all that's in the Constitution. The customary usages were all setup by George Washington during that first presidency. The point was that the name itself wasn't to be glorified, but the office, and even that was to be given short shrift.< />< />The disrepect shown to President Bush wasn't in what they called him. It was in the rest of the text.

Re: Barack Hussein Obama…

AD, I agree. I will support him so long as he fulfills his duties under the US Constitution, while opposing any policies I disagree with, using the soap, ballot and jury boxes as appropriate.< />< />And I will not do it Moonbat/BDS style. I have too much self respect for that.< />< />Of course, should he ever step out of his Constitutionally mandated limits, he is no longer our president and all bets are off.< />< />My loyalty is to the Constitution, not to any one branch of government and whoever is holding the seat at the moment.< />< />"Who determines what is right? Does it come down to the majority, as with any supposed democracy,"< />< />We are not (thank the deity of your choice) a democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic where the desires of the majority are limited and moderated by said constitution. "Rule of Law" IOW. Pure democracy is nothing more than legalized mob rule.< />< />"or will you yourself be the final judge to what is right and wrong?"< />< />Yes. Just as you are for yourself.< />< /> "If that's the case, what happened to the vox populi?"< />< />Limited in it's power in this country since 1789. Well, claiming that you will give Obama the same treatment Bush received implies that either you are as biased or stupid as you claim the "left" are or that perhaps those tactics were appropriate for the "left" to use. Either way its not a great position to have, and not effective in influencing people who are critical thinkers. As to the 2nd Ammendment. It clearly lists out rights, the Supreme Court can handle protecting them. If you think it can't point the finger at Regan, GHB, and GWB as much as at Clinton and Obama. I see 8 years of Democrat presidents and 20 years of Republican ones. On the brief abortion reference just above, how about everyone who does care about life getting behind a few condoms for stupid teens to PREVENT the problem for a change?

Re: Barack Hussein Obama…

"...but the amendment never did because of the traditions set forth early on..."< />< />I've never heard the freedom from oppression described as a tradition. < />< />Then again, maybe this fits with the description of killing fetuses as family planning.

Re: Barack Hussein Obama…

"A well regulated Militia..." was written before the existence of a Uniform Army of the United States. I will attempt to shed light on every socialist action he or his "team" presents.< />< />I will defend the constitution whether he does or not!

Re: Barack Hussein Obama…

Well, I am PROUD to say that I VOTED FOR OBAMA!!!< />< />With the choice of Old Coot and Hillbilly Woman - what choice was there?!< />< />And I am a gun-owning "hillbilly woman" from Kentucky . . .< />< />Even though our Country needs someone with the slightest bit of intelligence to run it (ahem, after dim-wit Bush), the rest of the World also needs a reason to come to respect us again as well.< />< />I didn't agree with any ONE candidate whole-heartedly, but there were FAR FEWER things with which I disagreed with OBAMA on - and the changes that he has made in 2 days are re-affirming as well.< />< />All that said, it is funny to see bloggers that I LOVE (ADA, that's you), and who I will continue to read, so different from me on the political spectrum! Just goes to show, religion and politics should never be discussed among FRIENDS!!!
