    Was thinking the same thing. Thought of making it a drinking game- a shot for every ridiculously unrealistic scene. Then I realized I have to work tomorrow. Maybe next time.

    Didn't watch it ... Though I do remember seeing no less then five medic chopper crashes within the 30 second commercials for it.

    I managed a whole 2 or 3 minutes...the sex in the ambulance and the hot-shot helicopter pilot who suddenly came up with the cure for the guy's caridac arrest is what finally did me in....holy crap.

    Stink, stank, stunk. Quite aside from the obvious technical errors. Bad acting (see David Caruso). Bad writing, (see Miami CSI). Bad comedy, (see Trauma), no don't. Back to watching Top Gear on BBC.

    I don't know where you guys work, but in my neck of the woods, fireballs are a daily occurrence and blonde female medics always have their uniforms unbuttoned. I thought the show was a documentary.

    I can't say I'm all worked up about it, but then again, I don't watch much network TV as it is.


    Another completely inaccurate portrayal of some part of the medical profession.



    As opposed to a completely inaccurate portrayal of some part of the justice system.

    I could list a bunch of shows that were as bad as this one likely was but went on to have long runs.



    I think the bigger problem is that some people in EMS think it's important. It's not.

    SAFETY ALERT: While watching Trauma with other EMS Professionals, please monitor them for loss of oxygen to the brain due to continued laughing and possible musculoskeletal injuries due to falling off the couch. Also be prepared to immediately fully immobilize, water, and flour any probie who nicknames himself "Rabbit".

    Let's see- In the 1st 5 minutes we saw two medics bumping uglies in the back of the rig on duty. A completely botched code due to electrical shock, a helo crash and a collection of Freudian delights serving as medics.


    Yep- a dead on accurate protrayal of our profession ( said tongue in cheek) I guess realty just doesn't sell commercial time

    I think the only part that was semi realistic with the "banging in the back of the rig" scene.I actually know a few people who got fired for doing that. Apparently its a bad idea to screw the bosses daughter in the back of an ambulance when he is going to do random rig inspections.

    I think I'll skip it. Make fun of the profession all you want, it deserves to be made fun of most of the time, I don't care about that. I do have something of a sore spot when it comes to sensationalizing EMS helicopter crashes, though.

    Seriously, I don't know what was more insulting / ridiculous: the show itself, or receiving a call from my mother immediately following saying "Is that what you do for work honey?" Just more crap to explain to patients. "No, this is not to shut you up because you are being a rude duchebag...its a NS flush....I realize you saw that on TV......

    7 minutes in to trauma my wife (a dedicated office worker) turns to me and starts laughing in my face and says, "In the 5 years I've been with you, I've never meet a paramedic who was as hot as these skanks." The walks out of the room. She's 100% correct There's more attractive people working on those 2 ambulances than in the entire city of chicago

    I had class last night so I missed it but judging from my instructors and fellow students reactions today I didn't miss anything and apparently its set the image of EMS back a million years! UGH!

    Just watched the episode today. For a layperson, it looks entertaining. For someone in the profession, it's still entertaining, but not in the same way. Maybe it can be used as lessons of what not to do.

    And if you ever manage to talk the cute dispatcher into "Baptizing" one of your new ambulances, make sure you look inside first to make sure your bosses are not already conducting their own rites in the back of that same rig.


    It makes for an awkward scene when you bust in on the service owners making the beast with two backs in one of their new rigs, when it was your intention to do that very thing.



    Or... so I've been told.

    At least Mother Jugs and Speed was technically a little more accurate depiction (I worked BLS for a small private service in the early 80s).


    No beer on the trucks, but there was some at the station for the off-going folks...and screwing with a competitor's rig? Regular occurrence back then.



    Oh, and of course some of the more senior guys (I was too "nice" for this I guess) had no problem picking up hookers in the truck...



    This? Well, this is just, you know...sad. Although the sex with the partner bit...I know if it happening around here once or twice too (though mostly they used stations).
